| Duties | 1. Parliamentary Monitoring. Under the guidance of the Research NPA, the interns will attend one-week training in gender equality and parliamentary monitoring. Each intern will be provided with a monitoring format and will be expected to monitor all parliamentary plenary sessions. Each intern will be assigned one of the housed of parliament, with one intern covering the Misharano Jirgo, and another, the Wolesi Jirga, the intern must take specific records of all issues discussed.
2. Production of Weekly Monitoring Reports. The intern will be responsible for producing weekly monitoring reports, to be both UNIFEM and AWN. These reports should take a gender sensitive approach to reviewing weekly plenary proceedings, and must include update on legislative debates from a gender perspective.
3. Attending Meetings. The interns will be responsible for attending weekly meetings with either UNIFEM or AWN staff to brief on plenary proceedings, to analysis data, and to evaluate progress.

| Qualification | Recent graduate from University in international studies, law, political science, gender, or other related field currently enrolled in a post graduate degree(i.e Masters or PhD)
Strong English language writing skills with Dari language skills, with proven experience in producing English language reports:
Strong time management skills, including the ability to set priorities, manage time effectively, dependability and accountability.
Ability to contribute to a team environment of respect, recognition, and mutual accountability;
Demonstrated sensitivity, discretion, tact, and courtesy in relation to gender equality and womens rights, development principles and projects, implementing partners, and national and international personnel of varied nationalities and backgrounds;
Commitment to upholding the organizational values and principles of UNIFEM Afghanistan;
An understanding of the social, cultural, and political context of Afghanistan and its relation to gender.
Ability to interact with individual of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, including a willingness to understand and be tolerant of different opinions and views
Computer literacy in standard soft wares such us office packages
