Background of establishment
The Afghan Institute of Learning was founded in 1995 in Pakistan by Professor Sakena Yacoobi to help address the problem of poor access for women and girls to education and health services their subsequent inability to support them selves and the impact this lack of education and health has on Afghan Society.
Vision:
The Afghan Institute of Learning was founded in 1995 in Pakistan by Professor Sakena Yacoobi to help address the problem of poor access for women and girls to education and health services their subsequent inability to support them selves and the impact this lack of education and health has on Afghan Society. An Afghan woman’s non-governmental organization. AIL is run entirely by Afghan women and has played a major part in reconstructing education and health systems capable of reaching the women and children of Afghanistan whether in refugee camps or in homes. AIL presently has offices in Kabul and Heart Afghanistan and in Peshawar Pakistan. At AIL we believe that educated people are the key to a future developed Afghanistan. With that in mind AIL works to empower all Afghans who are needy and oppressed by expanding their educational and health opportunities and by fostering self – reliance and community participation.
Mission
It is our mission to lay a foundation for quality education and health for years to come and to provide comprehensive education and health services to Afghan women and children, so that they can support and care for themselves.
Objective:
To provide a rage of quality education opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds. - To educate and train qualified professional in the field of education and health. To foster community participation and self reliance - To create opportunity for women to develop essential skills they require finding employment and establishing sustainable live hoods. - To develop basic health services those are capable of reaching a broad geographical spectrum. Goal: AIL is a non government organization committed to improving the lives of Afghan people through providing quality education opportunity (teachers and high education facilities) and Basic health services.

Activities


1. Health: clinic, mobile clinic, nursing course, reproductive health workshop and health education

2T. T (Teacher Training): Pedagogy seminars, Management, Literacy, Leadership, Kindergarten, Life Skill, Women Rights and Empowerment & Democracy workshops.

3.PEP (Pre – Education Program): Kindergarten, Workshop and Mini workshop.

4.WLC (Women Learning Center): Mini workshops, English, computer, Holly Quran, math, drawing, calligraphy, art, literacy, science subjects, tailoring classes and production session.

5. International workshops

d) Empowerment and Education workshop
